The NXTPRO Circuit is an elite series of events that culminates in the crowning of a national champion in the 17U, 16U, and 15U divisions. This platform provides top-tier competition, national exposure, and opportunities for athletes to showcase their talent in front of college coaches and scouts.

The circuit is divided into two leagues:

  • PRO16 League – Features sponsored teams competing at the highest level.

  • NXT League – Consists of teams working toward earning sponsorship.

Both leagues compete in multiple sessions throughout the spring and summer, establishing team rankings within their divisions. These sessions take place during both non-live and NCAA live periods, attracting hundreds of college coaches who evaluate and recruit players for their programs. MAD Basketball Academy is proud to be part of the NXTPRO/PUMA Circuit, providing our athletes with the ultimate stage to compete and earn collegiate basketball opportunities.

Shoe Leagues:
NXT League vs. Other Circuits

The NXT League stands apart from other shoe circuits' second-tier leagues in two key ways:

  • Shared Venue with PRO16 League – Unlike other circuits, NXT League games take place in the same venue as PRO16 League games, allowing college coaches to seamlessly evaluate both leagues without leaving the building.

  • Opportunities to Compete Against PRO16 Teams – Throughout the season, NXT League teams have the chance to compete against PRO16 teams, providing a pathway to prove they belong at the highest level. Most other shoe circuits do not offer this opportunity to their second-tier teams.

At the end of the regular season, teams in both leagues are ranked using the NXTPRO algorithm, which considers wins/losses, strength of schedule, and point differential. Rankings determine advancement to a national tournament, where every team earns its place—nothing is given.

NXTPRO National Championships

In July, during the NCAA Live Period, the PRO16 League hosts its National Championship Tournament. The event begins with pool play, followed by bracket play, determining the ultimate champion. What sets NXTPRO apart is that the top 16 NXT League teams are also invited to compete in this tournament—an opportunity no other shoe circuit offers.

At the end of July, the NXT League holds its own National Championship, featuring the top 150 NXT teams. The winners of this tournament earn automatic promotion to the PRO16 League for the following season, along with a team sponsorship. This is the game-changing opportunity that NXT League teams strive for all season.
